During the February 7th, 2023, State of the Union address, President Joe Biden took time to plea for Congress to ban assault weapons. A stabilizing brace is an attachment to a pistol that functionally turns it into a short-barreled rifle. Why is that important? Pistols (typically) are a cheaper purchase to have a firearm to protect themselves. The right to protect ourselves shouldn’t have a financial barrier that the majority of the population can’t overcome.

Yet, it’s more difficult to accurately aim a pistol in comparison to a rifle. The stabilizer allows for more people to have access to a more effective means of keeping their families safe, and is now being taken away.
